ARGENTINE VERSION OF THE VULVAR PAIN ASSESSMENT QUESTIONNAIRE: TRANSLATION AND TRANSCULTURAL ADAPTATION
Main Article Content
Abstract
Objective: To perform a cross-cultural adaptation and validation of the Vulvar Pain Assessment Questionnaire (VPA-Q). Materials and Methods: Translation and cross-cultural adaptation were carried out by recruiting 65 women. Internal consistency was calculated using Cronbach’s alpha (α) (adequate >0.8) and statistical significance was set at p<0.05. Results: The mean age was 53.1 (± 11.2) years. Reliability analysis: Pain Severity (mean: 2.72; α: 0.94), Emotional Response (mean: 1.78; α: 0.96), Cognitive Response (mean: 1.17; α: 0.89), Interference in life (mean: 1.04; α: 0.95), Interference in sexual life (mean: 2.02; α: 0.9), Interference in self-stimulation (mean: 1.03; α: 0.86). Conclusions: Vulvar pain negatively impacts women’s lives. To understand it, it is essential to collect information about their experiences. The analyses demonstrated that the VPAQ-full meets validation requirements.
