Abstract

This paper presents Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as an innovative approach in sexology. The principles of ACT, which encourage psychological flexibility and acceptance of internal experiences, allowing individuals to align their sexuality with their personal values, are presented. It discusses how this therapy addresses difficulties such as sexual anxiety and shame, as well as its application in treating sexual dysfunction and enhancing intimacy in relationships. In addition, the positive impact of ACT on self-acceptance and exploration of sexual identity is highlighted. By integrating these principles, a more authentic and fulfilling sexuality is promoted.
