Abstract
The Argentine Society of Human Sexuality's guide on premature ejaculation addresses its definition, causes, diagnosis and treatment. It explains that premature ejaculation is a sexual dysfunction characterized by lack of control over ejaculation, which generates distress and affects sexual and relational life. Biological, psychological and mixed causes are identified, including anxiety and neurochemical factors. Different diagnostic criteria and tools such as questionnaires are presented. A comprehensive approach including sex education, behavioral therapy (ejaculatory control techniques), couple interventions and pharmacological treatments is recommended. The importance of early diagnosis and degenitalization of sexuality to improve satisfaction and quality of life is emphasized.
