Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the effects of acute exposure to autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) as a therapeutic strategy in patients with erectile dysfunction of mild-moderate. Materials and methods: Patients with erectile dysfunction (ED) of mild-moderate vascular origin calculated by IIEF 5 questionnaire, with incomplete response to IPD5 inhibitors, were selected and 4 doses of platelet-rich plasma of origin were applied to the penis. autologous. All patients signed informed consent prior to the application of PRP. Results: The average age of the patients was 68.7 years (range 58-77). The IIEF-5 average prior to applications was 14.6. One month after completing the complete protocol, the IIEF-5 score showed a result of 18.9. All patients who received PRP were more satisfied with the PRP treatment with the erection achieved. No adverse events were observed during the study period. Conclusion: Our results support the clinical improvement of PRP treatment to IPDE5 response. Furthermore, as it is an autologous treatment, without relevant complications and at a low cost, it could be a non-dismissable strategy for patients with ED of mild-moderate vascular origin.
